Old Ford Tractor Pictures

| The first Ford (Fordson)
tractor was built in 1917. The Ford tractors were not the first, and not
always the best, but they were the first to be produced on a mass produced
and the first farm tractors to be affordable to all who had the need for
one. It is felt by many that the Ford tractors did indeed change the world.
Even though Henry Ford had achieved great success in the automobile market, he never forgot that he was the son of a farmer. He understood the need of applying automotive technology to the process of farming. This was very evident with his strong support for the tractor and his experimental work beginning in 1907. Ford set up an independent company to build and market
the tractor in 1917. Henry Ford & Son Corporation was set up with Henry
Ford firmly in control.
